Event Cancelled: April 4th IEPA-Sponsored Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Collection event organizers have decided to cancel the upcoming Illinois EPA-sponsored Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection at the Market Place Shopping Center on April 4, 2020.

Event organizers are in the process of rescheduling the IEPA-sponsored HHW collection event to an early spring 2021 date in Champaign. Plans are to carry forward the same reserved 15-minute appointment time for each of the 800 registered participants to the rescheduled Saturday date in 2021. Event organizers requested the rescheduled HHW collection event date of Saturday, April 10, 2021, however that date is not yet confirmed.

Residents who wish to cancel their reserved appointment time for the rescheduled 2021 event are asked to notify event organizers by email at recycling@champaignil.gov or by phone at 217-403-4780. Residents who wish to change their registered appointment time will have an opportunity to do so at a time closer to the rescheduled event, so long as other appointment times become available.

Local collection event organizers will provide updates and reminders well in advance of the newly selected Spring 2021 date. Organizers apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding during these unprecedented times. If you have any questions, please notify your local recycling coordinator:
